Unique accommodation pavilions at Moorilla Estate Winery in the Tasmanian landscape
Just north of the recently completed open performance stage, four new accommodation units at Moorilla Estate Winery stand and face the Derwent River. The new boutique freestanding accommodation units have been designed by Melbourne architects The Antarctica Group with Nonda Katsalidis and include 2 two bedroom units and 2 one bedroom units.
A collection of strong geometries radiate out from a car park- each placed between fingers of mesh thread that retain earth and act as screens of vegetation. Three units are a combination of concrete, steel and zinc and sit in the landscape like crouching dogs!. The fourth unit that acts as a white lighthouse that looks out across the Derwent River.
The architecture delivers a unique Australian accommodation experience. Each unit offers high quality fixtures and finishes typical of luxury boutique accommodation market. At the same time the units all come with their own exciting personality.
