First constructed as a prototype for VicUrban, the design of this home won the Victorian Architecture Awards: Small Project Architecture Category. The prototype was designed as part of a project to provide sustainable and affordable houses in the volume builder market.

Designed to adapt to its owners over time, this design offers an alternative to current trends in Australian home ownership. This house gained a seven star energy rating and uses low impact materials throughout.

In keeping with the original intention, we have reconstructed this project on a bush block in Anglesea. The clients have made full use of the flexibility inherent in the design by using the front bedroom with its separate entry as a distinct home office and the garage space has become an extension to the outdoor living. The façade too has undergone further patterning to suit its surrounding coastal location.
