> ARCHIVE > APOLLO BAY FISHERMEN’S CO-OP
ANTARCTICA are currently working with the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority on the redevelopment of Apollo Bay Harbour precinct. The harbour is a working port which generates income for the town and supports the local fishing industry.
The Apollo Bay Harbour Redevelopment Project will revitalise the Apollo Bay Harbour precinct. The outcome will increase the capacity of commercial operations and recreational activity and support the growth of the tourism economy through improving the public realm and visitor offerings in the precinct. The project delivery will also offer improvements to public safety and access in the working port.
The Apollo Bay Harbour Precinct includes the Apollo Bay Fisherman’s Co-operative building, the Port operations depot, the slipway yards, Mothers Beach carpark, Point Bunbury boat ramp and carpark, commercial moorings, breakwaters, pier, and beacons.
The proposed redevelopment will include a redevelopment of the existing Apollo Bay Fisherman’s Cooperative building to accommodate an improved commercial offering, the redevelopment of the Port Operations Depot, the construction of a public promenade and improvements to pedestrian, cycling and vehicle access around the site as well as of the Mother’s Beach
carpark and Nelson Street
This project is currently in the Concept Design phase.
