ANTARCTICA worked with Moreland City Council on the Coburg City Oval redevelopment. Refurbishment and extension of the existing Victorian grandstand created a modern facility meeting current standards and the needs of the sporting clubs into the future. Works include new social spaces and kitchen, new change rooms and game day facilities, and a new concourse. New vertical circulation core on the back connects all three floors via lift and stair. Lower ground level has new changerooms within the existing footprint with two new wings housing the umpires and gym. The ground level has a new kitchen kiosk, social space with refurbished offices, meeting-rooms and amenities within the existing footprint. The top level houses a 200 person function space with bar and kitchenette. Refurbishment grandstand sits under the existing roof. The completed project is now home for stakeholder groups consisting of sporting clubs and sporting codes including the AFL, AFLW and coricket clubs, Vic Sports and community use. Construction commencedat the end of 2019 and was completed in July 2021.
